Privacy & Cookies Policy

MacroChef is a meal-building and macro-tracking app. This policy explains what we collect when you use it, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.

• Account details — your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google or Apple.
• Your food data — saved meals, food diary entries, macro targets, body weight, goal weight and, if you choose to share it, sex.
• App usage — basic technical logs and a count of meals generated, so we can keep the app fast and reliable.

We do not collect payment details, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Your food data exists only to power the app: to calculate your targets, generate meals that match them, and show your diary across your devices. Account details are used to sign you in and keep your data private to you.

Your data is stored in a secure hosted database with row-level access rules, so only your signed-in account can read or change your records. Meal photos are generated and cached in private storage and shared anonymously between users — they contain no personal data.

We only use what the app needs to work:

• Essential — a sign-in token so you stay logged in between visits.
• Preferences — your light/dark theme choice and any meals you build before signing in, kept on your device.

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Clearing your browser storage signs you out and removes these preferences.

You can see and edit your data in the app at any time, change your email or password from the account menu, and delete your account permanently — which removes your saved meals, diary entries and targets. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to request a copy of your data or ask us to correct it.

MacroChef is not intended for anyone under 16.
